Copyright Notice All the Images contained in PhotoTripUSA's "images of the Southwest Volume 1 CD-ROM" are and shall remain the exclusive property of the photographers who created them and whose names and copyright appear on the Images. Usage License PhotoTripUSA grants you a personal, single user, non-transferable, non-exclusive License to use the Images included in the "images of the Southwest Volume 1 CD-ROM" for personal use and internal company use only on a single computer. The Images may be used Royalty-free in advertising (ads, brochures, newsletters, etc.) provided they are printed no larger than 2.5 inches in the longest dimension. Credit must be given to the photographer immediately below or to the side of the image. The Images may also be used Royalty-free on the Internet (Web sites, etc.) in low-resolution form limited to 60K for viewing only, NO downloading. Credit must be given to the photographer immediately below the image. Using the Images in Products for Resale is not permitted and requires a Special License. Please contact PhotoTripUSA at the address below. The Images may NOT be used for resale under any circumstances. Licensing high resolution images Most images are available in high resolution (18 MB to 72MB scans) for publication-quality reproduction. Please contact PhotoTripUSA for pricing. We price our images per fotoQuote depending on intended usage. Buying prints Many images contained on the CD-ROM are from Medium Format originals and have been professionally drum-scanned. They make exceptionally crisp and colorful 11"x14" digital prints. We are experts at image correction and digital printing and receive many kudos for the extremely fine resolution of our prints: the result of Medium Format originals, professional scans, calibrated devices and years of experience. We print on Epson's Premium Semi-gloss Archival paper, but can accommodate different requirements. Please check our web site for pricing. Image Format All images are in the JPEG format. Horizontal images are 1024 pixels wide and vertical images are 768 pixels high (the other dimension may vary). The Images have been prepared with a gamma of 2.2, which is typical of most PC monitors. You should set your Display Settings to at least 64K color (16bits or more). The color space used for the images is sRGB, which is adequate for monitor viewing on most RGB and LCD monitors. To use a horizontal Image as wallpaper on your desktop, simply copy it on your hard disk and select it in the Display Background Control Panel or use the convenient ThumbsPlus shareware, which we encourage you to register. Mac OS Classic considerations The Macintosh's native gamma is 1.8. While this gamma is well suited for pre-press needs, it is not as good for displaying images on a quality RGB monitor. Although you can view the Images without changing the native gamma, you'll benefit from calibrating your monitor using a gamma of 2.2. Use the Color tab of your Monitors Control Panel to recalibrate your monitor and set it for Thousands of Colors or more. To place an horizontal Image as a background on your desktop, select it from the Desktop tab of the Appearance Control Panel or use the convenient GraphicConverter shareware, which we encourage you to register. Mac OS X considerations Please read Mac OS Classic considerations regarding resetting the gamma on your monitor. To calibrate your monitor for a gamma of 2.2, use the Color tab of the Displays panel in System Preferences. To use an horizontal Image as wallpaper, choose it in the Desktop panel in System Preferences or use the convenient GraphicConverter shareware, which we encourage you to register. GraphicConverter is a carbon application and works equally well under Classic and OS X. Using images in graphic applications The Images can be opened in most graphic applications, where you can resize them and alter them to fit your needs. Due to variations in color rendition, the Images may not appear on your monitor as they were intended to be seen and you may need to adjust levels and/or color balance accordingly. Shareware on this CD-ROM a) ThumbsPlus (for Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 and XP): we have included the shareware version of "ThumbsPlus", by special permission from Cerius Software. You may use it to browse the pictures on your CD-ROM, view a slideshow, etc. Please register this shareware application if you continue using it; you'll find the necessary registration information in the Program itself. b) GraphicConverter (for Mac OSClassic and Mac OSX): we have included the carbon version of "Graphic Converter", by permission of Lemke Software. You may use it to browse the pictures on your CD-ROM, view a slideshow, etc. Please register this shareware application if you continue using it; you'll find the necessary information in the Program itself, as well as in the supporting documentation. PhotoTripUSA is not an agent of nor associated with either Cerius Software or Lemke Software and receives no financial rewards from them if you buy their shareware. This shareware is available on this CD-ROM solely for your convenience (and for the fact that PhotoTripUSA has found both to be great software and a terrific value). |
