In a few words It's very simple. You have a digital file and you want to print it in a size larger than your printer can accomodate. Typically you are an Epson 2xxx, 3xxx or 7xxx user (or a Canon or HP user of equivalent printers). I'm offering to make that print for you for a reasonable fee. Frustrated by the small size of your display prints? Treat yourself to spectacular large format prints of your best work, up to 44" wide by 10' long, without breaking the bank! I will print your digital files on my large-format Epson 9600 using Ultrachrome© pigmented inks for spectacular color rendition and accuracy. The Ultrachrome inks offer a wide color gamut and an incredible lightfastness of 60+ years. If you want to make prints larger than the 13"x19" limit of most consumer printers, send me your self-prepared digital files on CD-R or DVD-R and I'll print them for you at a very reasonable price. About Inks, Paper & Profiles I
print using the Ultrachrome inks (not the newer K3 inks) using Matte
Black ink (as oppsosed to Photo Black ink). These inks give better
results on fine-art papers and canvas than the K3 inks, which have been
optimized for glossy stock. Prints are made on your choice of Fine-art
Cotton Rag paper or Canvas. I no longer print on glossy or semi-glossy
stock. File Preparation Save your files in TIFF or native PSD. Your files must be color-corrected and sharpened by you, all layers should be flatened. The color space profile you've used to color-correct your image should be embedded within the file. I will NOT make any adjustments to your files. It is your responsibility to prep your files for printing. The service I provide to you is that of printing your own pre-flighted files on my wide-carriage professional printer at a very reasonable cost. You best bet to ensure satisfactory results is to proof your print first on a consumer printer such as the Epson 2200, using Ultachrome inks. There might be minor variations in color due to the 9600's stricter tolerance, more sophisticated print head and more accurate profiling. File Size Your file's resolution should be anywhere between 180 dpi and 300 dpi. It is possible to get excellent results with a resolution as low as 180 dpi, when starting from a very good scan. There is no real benefit to using a resolution higher than 240 dpi in a large print destined to be seen from a distance. If you wish to print a large file but your scan doesn't have enough megabytes, I can up-resit for you using Genuine Fractals. Shipping & Handling Prints
are wrapped face down inside a rigid Kraft mailing tube, between sheets
of buffered wrapping tissue. Each tube can accomodate up 3 prints.
There is a flat shipping & handling fee of $15. I ship via U.S.
postal service Priority Mail. I can offer shipping to business
addresses using UPS Next Day or 2nd Day, at actual cost per UPS's rates. Ordering Open my order form, print it and send it with your digital file to: PhotoTripUSA Publishing Payment Payment can be made by check or credit card and should accompany your order. |
